Use these 5 tips to grow your business’ online presence!

1. Blog about your niche.

We live in a world where information has become more powerful than ever.  You now have the ability to share your knowledge with the world.  And if you own a business, there is a strong possibility that someone else out there is looking for information you know about.

2. Interact with other locals online.

Do you have a storefront?  Do you work out of a small town?  People love to support small businesses.  Learn to engage with your customers online – not just sell to them.  Think of social media as a big party.  You wouldn’t go in to that party and immediately start trying to sell your business, you’d talk about what you like and your interests.

3. Word of mouth marketing rocks.

Online marketing has made it very easy for your customers to become your biggest marketing assets.  Give them an incentive to talk about you – offer discounts for posting an honest review on Yelp, blogging about your store, or even posting a picture of your product on Facebook/Instagram.

4. Google is your business’ best friend.

Google gives you all the tools you need to make your business shine online – but it’s up to you to know how to use them.  Google Places and Google+ are a great way to ramp up your SEO and get found by the right people online.

5. Make sure your website is mobile optimized.

Local mobile searches (86 billion) are projected to exceed desktop searches (84 billion) in 2015 [via eMarketer].  You don’t want to miss out on a potential customer because your website took too long to load on their phone or the text was too small to read.  Create a website that looks and feels great for the user on any platform or browser.
